Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology
(SIET) was founded in 2006 by Dr. S. Thangavelu, with
the dream of imparting education that is character
building and creating better citizen and the human
being, from the assimilation of ideas along with
acquiring productive life skills. With the mission to
provide an encouraging environment to develop the
intellectual capacity, critical thinking, creativity and
problem solving ability of the students, the institute
collaborated with worldwide universities and
industries. Now the college has offering 13 UG courses
and 5 PG courses and 7 departments is recognized as
Ph.D. research center . The institute has been approved
by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE),
New Delhi, accredited by NAAC with A Grade and
NBA and it is an autonomous institution affiliated to
Anna University, Chennai. SIET is the first Private
Engineering Institution in India, indigenously designed
and developed own satellite and launched at
Sriharikota, ISRO. SIET is ranked top 10 colleges across
India to receive national employability award and The
Times Group award for Excellence in Education. SIET is
ranked 6
th Position in Placement by Anna University,
22nd position all over India in Top 100 private
engineering colleges survey 2016 and 11th Position in
Placements conducted by Higher Education Review. It
is the youngest institution in India accredited by
National Board of Accreditation.
